CLIPPER SHIP UPDATE - 05/03/2010

Many of our customers are noticing extended lead times on quotes and inventory availability. Here is a quick update for those not familiar with the situation. Many Factories within China as well as freight and logistics companies, reduced capacity last year in response to the global economic situation. The rapid recovery of the Chinese economy combined with reduced capacities as a result of the labor shortage has left China in an unusual situation. The result is longer production times, longer shipping times and rising costs. We anticipate (hope) these circumstances will start to level out in the next couple months. Not all orders will experience delays. We will keep a close eye on your Brentwood ClipperShip & direct Import orders and if we anticipate the situation starting to affect your order we will let you know.

We are taking immediate action to insure the least amount of disruption to your business as well as ours. We are investing in increased inventory and making arrangements to work around the current shipping inconveniences as able. Whenever possible we will work to suggest alternative product solutions to help both of us salvage the sale!
