A major mid-western bank needed an item to promote the opening of new accounts. Their distributor guided them through a process of choosing an item that included things like: high perceived value, unisex in appeal, timely delivery, one-of-a-kind and the right price.

A Major Midwestern Distributor Customer talks about The Sourcing Department.
We approached a large bank customer for the first time about a quarterly premium project. The bank wanted items that could draw attention as the customers walked in the doors of the bank. Our recommendation was to use a larger piece (items used have been several coolers, a travel chair, and a blanket) in order to drive the customer over to the sign in area. Items that laid flat (i.e., calculators, pen/pencil sets) were never considered because of their size. The toughest part of this promo is the wide range of the people being targeted – 18 to 70 years of age.
We have always had a great working relationship with the staff at the Sourcing Department. We have sold numerous items over the years to this bank. When we make our initial presentation to the bank, I always hope they will choose an item from the Sourcing Department because I know everything will be taken care of.
